THE OLDMAN MASK

Bongsan Talchum is a traditional Korean masked dance and drama that originated in the Bongsan region of Hwanghae Province, which is now part of North Korea. The dance is performed by a group of people wearing colorful masks and costumes, and tells stories from Korean folklore and history. The dance is accompanied by music played on traditional instruments such as the janggu drum and the haegeum fiddle. Bongsan Talchum is considered an important part of Korean cultural heritage and is protected as a National Intangible Cultural Property in South Korea.
